DDG’s fresh meat program takes in new skaters and referees on a quarterly basis throughout the year. Classes are held on Wednesdays and Sundays, except for certain holidays. A certain amount of non-skating hours are also required.
We are a competitive WFTDA league and run a training program that strives to prepare you for safe and competitive play on a travel team or home team. One fresh meat cycle takes three months where we cover the fundamentals for playing roller derby. Throughout the fresh meat process cuts will take place three times, but do not be discouraged. If you are ever removed from a cycle we will give you specific skills to work on and encourage everyone to stay involved with the league while you develop your skills for the next fresh meat class.
