New Beginnings

It's a new day at the DDG website. We are going through a revamping of our current design, which seems only fitting as our league is going through some changes as well. Small numbers has been an issue for the DDG since I joined about 10 months ago, but currently it's the lowest I've seen. Due to life, injuries, new jobs, and new opportunities, we've lost a few of our league members.

So the Dominion Derby Girls are opening their doors with welcoming arms and saying "come one, come all, come SKATE!"



People who don't play roller derby often times don't understand the unrelenting, unyielding passion that comes with it. I know I didn't. I thought it looked "cool" so I came to a bout. Instantly I was hooked. I came to a fresh meat try-out....and I promise you I was HOT tranny mess on my skates. Really, it was ugly.

But I loved it. I loved it instantly. And that is the thread that binds me to this. Thats why I cannot stop dreaming about skating, thats why I love the blisters on my toes. Thats why I love the girls I skate with. Its passion. We literally poor our blood, sweat, and tears into this...and it IS worth every moment. It really means a lot to me to be a part of this league, and I cannot wait to welcome in the new skaters, refs, and volunteers. If you've ever thought about it, if you've ever seen a bout...or you remember it from the 80's.....hell if you've EVER had a strange hankering for sparkly hot pants or fishnets...this *IS* for you. You owe it to yourself to come out to a practice, talk with the ladies, and take a lap around the track. If you're interested, sign up for our mailing list or check out our join page.
