We’re introducing a new blog series that will be popping up often, Rapid Fire Interviews. We are going to rotate between fresh meat, rottens, vets, and coaches/refs. The questions are short and answers are meant to be stream of consciousness. So let’s jump right in with one of our current fresh meat ref- Phil.
How did you find out about DDG?
My wife told me about it and said she wanted to join.
Then what made you join?
I needed to get off my ass.
What were your expectations coming in?
I was going to fall a lot.
What has surprised you the most now that you are 1 month in?
I have gained about 20 mothers. Some of whom are younger than I am.
What skill has surprised you with its difficulty and what skill with its ease?
Walking on toe stops is WAY harder than I thought it would be. Jumping was way easier than I thought it would be.
What is your current goal?
To not get a concussion… get in better shape.
Have you thought about a derby name?
YES! At a bout after party at the beginning of contemplating reffing, I told Sparrow NoMercy my derby name and she said I had to become a ref because the name was too good not to happen.
